Karl Ray Millican was born August 18, 1943 in Dallas, Texas and passed from this life on December 20, 2024 in Dallas.
Karl was a loving husband, dad, and Pop. He was also one of the best meat cutters in Dallas for over 30 years and could do whatever he set his mind to do. Although Karl loved his job, he had so many things he loved even more. He loved working on cars while teaching Brandon and all the neighborhood boys the workings of an engine. Karl also loved drag racing and looked forward to the racing season each year. When Brandon was racing, he was there as often as possible. One of his other loves was being on his boat. He loved taking Brandon, Jen, his nieces and nephews, and the neighborhood boys fishing and skiing with that boat. His greatest love of all, though, was his loving wife and family, and he sure loved deeply.
Karl had a motorcycle accident in 1975 that took him 2 ½ years to recover from. It subsequently caused other health issues later in life. He was extremely brave and strong which got him through his long suffering. He will be loved and missed forever.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dewitt and Hazel Millican.
Karl is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Judy Millican; his daughter, Jennifer Davis and husband, Jack; his son, Brandon Millican and wife, Sandy; his grandchildren, Jake Davis, Hunter Millican, Tanzleigh, Millican, Holden Millican, Garrett Davis, and Zachary Davis; his brother, Paul Millican; his sister, Mary Nelson; and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 10:00am to 11:00am on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at First Baptist Church of Red Oak with a celebration of Karl's life to begin at 11:00am. A graveside service will be immediately following at 2:00pm at DFW National Cemetery.
