Kathleen Lois Hall Justus was born September 8, 1937 in Dallas, Texas and passed from this life on September 17, 2024 in Dallas, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Lee Justus; her father, Walter Hall; her mother, Kathleen Hall Day Daderio.
Kathleen spent most of her life in Lancaster, Texas, surrounded by family and friends. She enjoyed her life growing up with her four sisters, Brenda, Darline, Carline, and Sylvia and her brother, Ernest. They remained her very best friends for all of her life. She quickly earned a reputation as a caregiver, helping her parents and siblings with anything they needed. After high school, she was employed by the Federal Reserve Bank. While working there, she signed up for a pen pal program for American servicemen deployed overseas. As they exchanged letters, she met and fell in love with her future husband, Jim. They got married, and raised children together it was her greatest joy and purpose in life to keep her little family safe and happy. As the children grew older, she worked at Sears, in customer service, where she was dedicated to keeping the catalog orders organized and the customers happy. Her family continued to grow, and she was blessed with nine grandchildren, giving her more people to look after and love. Her grandchildren remember that she always stocked their favorite foods, cooked their favorite meals, made up games to play, and took them on little adventures. She will be fondly remembered by all for her sweet nature and kindness.
Kathleen is survived by her four children, Kathy Justus Wilsford, Vicky Justus Hill, Susan Justus Hodson and husband Jim Hodson, and Russell Justus. Grandchildren are Drew Wilsford and Mandy, Jared Wilsford and Katy, Rachael Huff and James, Colin Wilsford, Sarah Franklin and Cort, Jacob Hill, Hannah Hill, Nathan Hodson and Charlotte, and Olivia Justus as well as seven great-grandchildren.
