Kay Annette Vest was born March 18, 1959 in Dallas, Texas and passed from this life on February 6, 2026 in Waxahachie, Texas.

Kay loved everyone she met. She welcomed anyone who needed it into her home at any time with no questions asked. She was an amazing cook and fed everyone with food from her table even if she didn't have any extra to spare. Kay was always giving to others and never thought of herself. She did love to go shopping, but spending time with her family was the most important. Her great-grandchildren were the current favorites! Kay was a one-of-a-kind woman, mom, sister, and Nana to all. She loved her husband dearly, and we know she is full of joy and peace to be back in his arms. She will be greatly missed on this side of heaven.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth Wayne Vest; her mother, Vonell Dorrill; and her father, Stanley J. Dorrill.

Kay is survived by her daughter, Wendy Annette King and husband Martin of Joshua, TX; her daughter, Crystal Tekell of Ennis, TX; her son, Kenneth Wayne Vest, Jr. of Ennis; her sister, Peggy Moyers and husband Richard; her sister Betty Hawthorne and husband Mark; her brothers, Stanley J. Dorrill and Steve Dorrill; her grandchildren, Jacob Jones, Aaron Jones, Alexis Vest, Christopher Tekell, and Bentley Tekell; her great-grandbabies, Oakley Grace Vest and Lakelynn Jade Vest; her brother-in-law, Gary Vest and wife Carmen; her sister-in-law, Pam Odle and husband Monroe; her sister-in-law, Scooter Vest; her sister-in-law, Sherry Vest; her previous son-in-law, Todd Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 12:00pm to 1:00pm on Monday, February 16, 2026 at Byrum Funeral Home Chapel with a celebration of Kay's life beginning at 1:00pm. Interment will follow in Edgewood Cemetery, Lancaster.
