Obituary

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in LaRue's honor to Brookhaven Junior Golf Academy or North Texas Junior Golf Association.
Celebration of Life will be held at Brookhaven Country Club on Sunday, December 17 from 4-6 PM.
LaRue "RueRue" Bevier-Williams was born October 7, 1931 in Dallas, Texas and passed from this life on November 17, 2017 at her home in Farmers Branch, Texas surrounded by her family.
LaRue married Charles Wayland Bevier on August 19, 1952 at the Kessler Park United Methodist Church in Dallas. Chuck was attending SMU. The couple made their home in Dallas and their son Doug was born in 1954. Chuck was in the US Navy and stationed in the Marshall Islands where their son Tom was born in 1955. They were transferred to San Francisco where they lived until Chuck was discharged from the Navy. Chuck passed away November 10, 1977.
LaRue married Billy Williams on March 25, 1988. They enjoyed their home at Brookhaven. They played in many tournaments together and loved playing golf with their kids and grandkids. Billy passed away in 2005.
LaRue was a proud member of Brookhaven Country Club for 61 years and worked there for 30 years. She was Past President of Brookhaven's Ladies Golf Association. She won the BWGA with 8 Championships and 7 "holes in one". LaRue won Brookhaven's Women's Golf Championship, Lakewood's Women's Golf Championship, and Dallas Women's Golf Association Championship (all in one year). She was involved with the Ladybug Invitational Tournament since it's conception at Brookhaven 32 years ago. She was also instrumental in starting the Brookhaven Junior Golf Association and the Dallas Junior Golf Association.
Rue Rue loved her boys and they spent endless time together. They shared her love of golf and spent many wonderful hours enjoying the game. Her grandchildren loved spending time at her home on the golf course. They will always remember riding in the golf carts and running wild across the club grounds (never the greens).
RueRue began a family tradition in 1984 of taking her sons and their families to Surfside Beach, TX. Every summer she would rent a beach house and they spent their time fishing, swimming, and just having fun. Her family continues the tradition with their families.
Rue Rue was preceded in death by parents Ralph and Stella Maye (Cox) Plumlee; husbands Charles Wayland Bevier & Billy Williams; sister Marvel Plumlee Austin. She is survived by sons Douglas Ralph Bevier & wife Sharon and Thomas Scott Bevier & wife Sandy; grandchildren Kacy Lemmond & husband Jeff, Blair Lankford & husband Tim, Justin Bevier & wife Laura, Charlie Bevier & fiancée Angelle; great grandchildren Madison Riley, Taylor Brooke & Jack Douglas Lemmond, Miller & Baker Lankford, Brooks Bevier; brothers Ralph Plumlee, Jr & wife Jan, Jim Plumlee & wife Joyce.
LaRue was a legend to her family. They loved her and will miss her dearly. They will always remember her, especially on the golf course or at the beach.
Our Family would like to thank you for coming and celebrating LaRue's life and legacy with us. We would also like to thank Brookhaven for all the love they've shown RueRue and our family over the last 61 years. Our family will always hold Brookhaven in our hearts and memories, as did Rue Rue.
Thank You, The Bevier's, Lemmond's & Lankford's
