Our beloved mother, Linda Lee Jeter Wolf passed away on October 14th, 2025.

Linda's life journey began July 15th, 1940, in Lamesa TX. Her parents, Claude & Hattie Jeter, were cotton farmers in the Key Community outside of Lamesa. Linda, her sister Carol, and her brother Richard all knew the happiness and hardships of farming.

Linda enjoyed attending school in Lamesa and often talked about her friends from school. As a young child, Linda was baptized and began her personal relationship with our heavenly Father. Their family commitment to the Key Community church allowed Linda to lead a Sunday School class for the first time and become involved with the GA ministry. Linda's wedding to Burel Wolf was the first wedding event at their church.

Linda & Burel had a long, happy marriage of 57 years, ending when Burel passed away in 2017. They moved to Lancaster, TX in 1964 where they established a beautiful home for the family. Linda was often a "stay at home" mom which meant she was very involved in the PTA, being a classroom mom or the school nurse, or being a leader with the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. When working outside of the home, Linda worked at the Lancaster ISD, the Lancaster JP's court, with a few office jobs scattered in between. She often would walk to work, and the school kids referred to her as Mrs. Walker Wolf.

Linda continued her church work over the years, often being a GA leader, Awana worker, or a Sunday School teacher. Linda & Burel's garden was huge, and she would always walk through the church doors carrying bags of the garden vegetables. Linda would end up canning hundreds of jars each summer, specializing in canned beets & pickled okra.

As a member of the Lancaster Genealogy Society, Linda's love of family genealogy grew. While tracking the Wolf and Jeter families, she discovered that we have a wonderful lineage to be proud of plus just a few possible outlaws. The Wolf research ended with Linda creating a book for the Wolfs to enjoy.

Long before Linda officially became a grandma, she and Burel were the neighborhood grandparents. Often, they would be sitting on their front porch and children would park their bikes in the driveway and sit and visit with their grandma and papa Wolf.

Once Linda became a "real" grandma, you could tell that she found her true calling… spoiling her grandson and then eventually her great-granddaughter. She became involved in their school activities and the after-school time of snacks & playing, often allowing them to do all the fun stuff her own kids were not allowed to.
Linda's final years were spent living with her daughter in Red Oak, still enjoying her church activities at Faith Baptist in Red Oak, up until her final year when she could no longer attend due to her health. She enjoyed working her sudoku puzzles (in pen!), crossword puzzles, word search, and watching the old westerns on TV. Her puzzles always took longer because her cat, Freckles, also enjoyed a good puzzle and lap time full of cuddles.

We cherish our memories with our mom and miss her deeply. We also have great peace with the solid assurance that she is in Heaven.

Linda is preceded in death by her husband, Burel R Wolf; her parents, Claude & Hattie Jeter; her brother, Richard Jeter; and her brother-in-law, Charles Shaefer.

Linda is survived by her son, Glen Wolf of Venus, TX; her daughter, Martha Wolf Salas of Red Oak, TX; her grandson, Richard C. Salas of Hughes Springs, TX; her great-granddaughter, Carissa Salas of Alvarado, TX; her sister, Carol Shaefer of Marietta, GA; her sister-in-law, Terry Jeter of Lubbock, TX; her sister-in-law, Helen Davis of Andrew, TX; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A celebration of Linda's life will be at 12:00pm on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at Byrum Funeral Home Chapel with visitation beginning at 11:00am. Interment will follow in Edgewood Cemetery, Lancaster, TX.
