Linda Nell Pickle was born November 22, 1947 in Corsicana, TX to Rufus Boswell and Edna Zonell (Jones) Wigley and passed from this life on December 1, 2020 in Sunnyvale, TX.
Linda was a people person and loved to be involved. She loved estate sales, travel, mining for gold, and camping. She enjoyed the "Lady to Lady" meetings and being a choir member at her church. She was a friend to many but none more cherished than her sister, Shirley.
Linda was a maker: a maker of memories. She was a talented seamstress making elaborate Halloween costumes for grandchildren, entire drill team uniforms, special occasion outfits, and most recently wanted to get involved with mask making for donation.
Linda was a keeper; she would welcome anyone in need, family and friends alike. Many family members lived with Macon and her through the years, most recently some of their great-grandchildren. She was the keeper of many things but rarely of secrets.
Linda was an investigator; she would often tell Macon he didn't ask enough questions. You could live next door to someone and Linda would visit one time and know more about the neighbor, their job and their family in ten minutes than you ever did in ten years.
Linda was a changer of her mind and your name. She either got it wrong, had a nickname for you, or called you by your middle name, even when you weren't in trouble. She was a changer of plans, not only hers but yours too.
Linda was extra: extra ice in her drinks, extra vegetables on her burgers, at times her deviled eggs had so many extras you forgot it was a deviled egg. If the plan was for her to bring a pie and a dozen deviled eggs to a gathering, she would show up with four pies, three dozen eggs, two casseroles and a cake, BUT she might be an hour late.
Linda was a giver of love, friendship, hugs, laughter, advice and opinions. She had a great laugh, more than a laugh, a unique cackle that made you laugh too. She was the giver of many gifts, always thinking and buying for someone else. She would give you the shirt off her back, and that's a good thing because she had bought one in every color.
First and Last: first to get mad and first to forgive. Linda gave it her all when it came to loving her family. Macon might not have been her first love, but he was her last love. It was young love and lasting love. They were still holding hands until the very end. He was the love of her life.
Born last, Linda always wanted to have the last word. Well, Linda, you got your wish, you left your mark, a lasting impression on our lives and our hearts that no one will ever replace.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Ronnie Wigley; and her brother-in-law, Bob Powell.
Linda is survived by her beloved husband, Willie Macon Pickle; her daughter, Kristie Mathes and husband Bill; her daughter, Kelly Cox; her daughter, Jennifer Humphrey and spouse Jackie; her grandchildren, Dustin Mathes and wife Katie, Colton Cox, Amber Smith, Clancy Mathes, Griffin Mathes, Ashley Smith, Demi Cox and Audrey Smith; her great-grandchildren: Micah, Emma, Macon, Payson, Miles and Riley; her sister in law, Patsy Wigley; her sister, Shirley Powell; her nieces and nephews, Ronnie Michael Wigley and wife Kim, Kathie Short and husband Kenneth, Sheila Potts and husband David, Keith Powell and wife Stephanie, and Kyle Powell; and numerous great nieces and nephews as well as great-great nieces and nephews.
