Louise Hokett was born November 17, 1929 in Waxahachie, Texas. She passed away at home on June 13, 2025 after being diagnosed with leukemia.

Louise's faith was evident at an early age. She loved Jesus, her church, and all her family and friends. Louise never met a stranger, and if you ever met her, there was a good chance she called you "Bud!" She loved playing 42 and many other games with her friends. She also loved her job as a customer service representative at Sears and retired after 30 years.

More than anything on Earth, Louise loved her three grandchildren. She bragged about them constantly to everyone she met, breaking out picture after picture of each one. She babysat all three grandchildren, witnessed about Jesus to all three of them, and of course taught all three to play Phase 10!

Louise was preceded in death by her beloved husband, H. Leon Hokett; her parents, Horace & Lorena Carter; and her brothers, Fred Carter, J.W. Carter, Bill Carter, and Ed Carter.

Louise leaves behind her legacy through her children, David Brent Hokett and wife Lou Jan, Joe Bradley Hokett and wife Carla; her grandchildren, Haley Annette Hokett and Jennifer Margaret Baer; her grandson Michael Hokett and wife Sadie; her sister-in-law, Toni Carter; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Louise's life will be at 2:00 pm on Monday, June 23, 2025 at First Baptist Church of Lancaster with visitation an hour prior beginning at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Edgewood Cemetery in Lancaster.
