Margaret (Kooney) Tamm, 88, passed away December 4, 2022, at Midlothian Medical Center in Midlothian, Texas.

Margaret ("Margie") was born April 23, 1934, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Frank and Victoria (Manikas) Kooney. She was married to Peter H. Tamm, also of Chicago, for nearly 70 years.
In addition to her parents, Margie was predeceased by her sister, Dorothea (Kooney) Osswald. She is survived by her devoted husband and soulmate, Peter, as well as her children—Gregory (Mary Beth) Tamm and Barbara Nessinger (George); her much-loved grandchildren, Michael (Christina) Tamm, Jessica Glass (Cody), Luke (Valeri) Tamm, David Tamm and Margaret Tamm. She had three great-grandchildren, of whom she was very proud: Benjamin, Alexander and Ignatius Tamm. She also leaves behind many nephews and nieces.

Margie's passions, aside from caring for her family, were singing, doll collecting, oil painting and reading. She was a devout Catholic who held many charities close to her heart. She loved animals and was especially fond of her many pet parakeets and parrots throughout her lifetime.
In 2010, Margie and Peter moved to Ovilla, Texas, to live with their daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and George Nessinger.

A Catholic mass will be at 2:00pm on Monday, February 6, 2023 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Lancaster, Texas. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm to 2:00pm prior to the mass at the church. In lieu of flowers, we'd encourage you to donate in Margaret's name to The Humane Society of the United States or the Wounded Warriors Project.
