Martha Jo Bredemeyer of Lancaster, Texas was born May 1, 1931 in Bangs, TX to Charley W. and Myrtle Ann (Sparks) Wade. She passed away September 14, 2019 in Waxahachie, TX.

Martha Jo loved life! She was very active in her church, First United Methodist Church of Lancaster, where she taught Sunday School for decades. She was also a huge supporter of the Lancaster Lion's Club where her beloved husband, Talmadge, was a past president. Martha Jo also loved the outdoors. Anything that involved hunting and fishing and camping was right up her alley. Dallas sports was another love of hers. If the Cowboys, the Mavericks, SMU Mustangs, UNT Mean Green, and especially the Texas Rangers were playing, she didn't miss it. Martha Jo rarely missed watching the Rangers on TV and sometimes got to go in person. She also loved being a sports mom. Martha Jo took Tam to every sporting event he was ever involved in from the very beginning.

Martha Jo was a teacher. She taught Home Economics for years with 10 of them being in Lancaster. She loved anything regarding sewing, quilting, cooking, and baking. And especially lately, her book club was one of her favorite groups that helped keep her going.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Talmadge; her parents; her sisters, Frances Burns and Jean Miller; and her brother, Charley Sparks.

Martha Jo is survived by her son, Tam Eugene Bredemeyer and many beloved nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at Byrum Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be at 11:00am, Friday, September 20, 2019 at First United Methodist Church in Lancaster.
