Obituary

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved mom, Martha Ann Chambers who peacefully passed away on July 26, 2026, at the age of 75.

Born on July 12, 1951 in Dallas, TX, Martha was the cherished first-born daughter of Ed and Jane Bolton. She grew up in Lancaster, TX and built a life centered on faith, family, kindness, and love.

Martha married her high school sweetheart, Scotland (Scott) Ray Chambers, Sr. and just celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary in June. Together they created a home filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. She was a loving mom to Darla Chambers Wolf and Scotland (Scott) Ray Chambers's, Jr., and an extra proud MeMe to her grandchildren Cody Wolf, Will Wolf, Sidney Chambers, Tristan Dyer, and Shane Dyer. Martha was a treasured sister, "Aunt Ma", cousin, and friend to many.

Martha dedicated many years of service to Lancaster ISD, where she worked at various schools as the Attendance Clerk and School Registrar. She took great pride in supporting students, families, and staff with kindness and compassion. Her caring nature left a lasting impact on many lives she touched throughout her career.

Although Martha endured many health problems her entire life, many people never knew because she always had a smile on her face and was always there to help and support others. She was known for her kind heart, unwavering faith in her Lord Jesus Christ, generosity, sense of humor, and strength. When her kids were in school, Martha was always involved in their school functions whether it was watching tennis matches, serving as PTA President, or assisting with other activities, she was always there.

Martha was a proud member of the Order of Eastern Star for over 23 years. She held many different positions including Worthy Matron, 2009-2010. She especially enjoyed attending their annual Grand Chapter Gala and making many memories with her travel buddy Debbie.

Martha also enjoyed making stained glass projects, crocheting, and cross stitch. She made many baby afghans for Scottish Rite Children's Hospitals, friends, and family. She also enjoyed teaching her grand kids how to cross stitch and crochet, together they had fun making projects.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Jane; her brother, James; and her grandparents, Mary Sue and B.P. Bolton, E.C. Hull, and Willie Schewenn.

Martha is survived by her husband Scott; her daughter, Darla (William); her son, Scott (Jean); her grandchildren, Cody (fiancée Jessica), Will (Jessica), Sidney, Tristan, and Shane; her brother, Robert; her sister, Beverly; and Aunt Nancy Somerville.

While our hearts are broken, we find comfort in the countless memories she gave us and her lasting legacy of love, faith, and compassion she leaves behind. She will be missed and always remembered by all who knew and loved her.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Byrum Funeral Home, Lancaster, TX. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 11:00 am at Byrum Funeral Home followed by a burial at Edgewood Cemetery in Lancaster.
