Martha Lee "Sister" Thornhill was born February 22, 1928 in Ennis, TX to Johnny & Sallie Purcell and passed from this life on November 26, 2022 in Midlothian, TX.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Thornhill.

Martha is survived by her sons, Bill Thornhill and wife Rita, Mathew Thornhill and wife Mary Sean, and Mark Thornhill; her grandchildren, Derek Thornhill and wife Jana, Amber Thornhill, Kate Ketts and husband Charles, Brian Thornhill and wife Lauren, Sara Dillard and husband Wil, Keally Harvin, and Hunter Harvin; her great-grandchildren, Madeleine Thornhill, Will Thornhill, Andrew Thornhill, Savannah Quintanilla, Addison Ketts, Olivia Quintanilla, Christian Ketts, Cason Thornhill, Travis Thornhill, Lena Thornhill, Emalee Ketts, and Robbie Dillard; and her sisters, Alice Neal, Sallie McNulty and husband Carl.

The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at Byrum Funeral Chapel. A celebration of Martha's life will be at 2:00pm on Thursday, December 1, 2022 also in Byrum Funeral Home Chapel.

A private interment will happen at a later date at DFW National Cemetery, Dallas.

*In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made in Martha's name to Cooks Hospital in Ft. Worth, the Dallas Police Association, or the Billy Graham Evangelist Association.*
