Martha Ann McCallum was born August 26, 1946 in Dallas, Texas and passed from this life August 13, 2024 in Lancaster, Texas.

Martha graduated from Lancaster High School in 1964. She was a member of the Library Club, Press Club, and the Spanish Club. After graduation, she left Lancaster and went to work for Southwestern Life Insurance Company. In 1991, Martha returned to Lancaster to live out the rest of her life in her hometown. After moving back, she continued to work for Southwestern Life and retired in January of 2009 with many years of service. Martha loved working in her yard and picking flowers to make bouquets. She loved all kinds of music and TV. More than all of these, Martha loved spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 29 years, Richard McCallum; her sister, Mary Sprunck; her mother, Lois Townsend; and her father, Clayton Townsend.

Martha is survived by her daughter, Sheryl Thrash and son-in-law of 38 years, Jimmie Thrash; her daughter, Wendy Garner; her step-sons, Brian McCallum and wife Linda, Keith McCallum and wife Courtney, Kelly McCallum and wife Lisa; her grandchildren, Justin, Lindsey, Laquita, Tiffany, Brittany, Dylan, Megan, Cody, Morgan, and Chase.

A celebration of Martha's life will be at 1:00pm on Friday, August 16, 2024 at Byrum Funeral Home Chapel in Lancaster with visitation beginning at 12:00pm. Interment will follow in Red Oak Cemetery.
