Mary Evelyn Long was born January 14, 1932 in Roxton, Texas and passed from this life on May 5, 2025 in Waxahachie, Texas.
Evelyn was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Lancaster. She had many other loves as well. Evelyn loved bowling and continued to do so until she was 81 years old. She also had a passion for working puzzles and even donated her finished ones to the church so others could enjoy them. An additional love that Evelyn shared with a close group of friends was travel. This group has been to Hawaii, Nashville, Branson, and many other places.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Lola Perkins; her sons, Paul Wall and Windell Wall; and her brothers, Paul Edwin Perkins, Charles Perkins, and Carlton Perkins.
Evelyn is survived by her grandsons, Ryan Wall and Matthew Wall; her great-granddaughter, Skylar; her daughter-in-law, Sherry Wall; her brother, James Perkins and wife, Pat; her sister, Janet Leos and husband, Fernando; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A celebration of Evelyn's life will be at 1:00pm on Friday, May 9, 2025 at Byrum Funeral Home Chapel in Lancaster with visitation beginning prior to the service at 12:00pm. Interment will follow in Edgewood Cemetery also in Lancaster.
