Mrs. Olivia M. Garza, 86, was born September 28, 1933 in Kenedy, TX and peacefully went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 29, 2020 in her home surrounded by her loving family.

Olivia was a cheerful soul. Her inner strength came from her long belief in God. A hard-working mother, Olivia loved gardening, cooking, sewing, playing bingo, watching Spanish soap operas, family get-togethers, singing Spanish gospel songs and teaching the younger generation the value of humility. Before moving to the DFW area 6 years ago, she was a long-time resident of Harlingen, TX.

Olivia is survived by her husband, Domingo Zapata; her sister, Guadalupe Barrientos; her brother, Feliberto M. Muniz; her sons, Gerardo Muniz and Gilbert Garza of Houston, Albert Garza, Emilio Garza and Manuel Garza of Dallas; her daughters, Elvia Garza, Irma Garza, Sandra Garza, and Yolanda Garza all of Dallas; her 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

She touched the lives of all those she met. There aren't enough words to describe how much she is loved and will be missed.

The family will gather to celebrate Olivia's life from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday, July 10, 2020 at Byrum Funeral Home Chapel, Lancaster, TX.
