Patricia Siegfried-Giles was born September 23, 1947 on Hamilton Air Force Base in Novato, CA and passed from this life on August 16, 2026 in Dallas. She was a woman of remarkable talent, energy, and dedication whose life was defined by service to others, a love of the arts, and an unwavering commitment to her community.

An excellent speaker with a gift for bringing words to life, Patricia volunteered as a reader for North Texas Taping for the Blind and for the Library of Congress Talking Books Program. She had a voice and presence that could captivate any audience—those who knew her often said she could make even the phone book sound interesting.

Patricia generously gave her time and talents to the arts. She volunteered in technical operations for the Dallas Civic Opera and also helped paint artwork for its productions. Alongside her husband, Jerry Giles, she was the owner and artistic director of Jer Giles Artwalls, where her creativity and artistic vision found another meaningful expression.

A devoted civic and community leader, Patricia served in numerous organizations throughout Texas and beyond. She was a member and president of Les Femmes du Monde, a Dallas women's charitable organization; a member of the Dallas Symphony League; and president of the Shakespeare Club of Lancaster. She was also a member of the Waxahachie Women's Club.

Her leadership extended to the Texas Federation of Women's Clubs, where she served as State President, and to the General Federation of Women's Clubs, where she served as a committee chairman. Her involvement with the Federation began early in life, as she enjoyed attending National GFWC conventions with her mother, who served as State President of the General Federation of Women's Clubs of New Mexico. These experiences helped foster in Patricia a lifelong appreciation for friendship, leadership, and service.

Patricia's love for Lancaster, Texas, was evident in the many ways she worked to preserve and strengthen her community. She volunteered for the City of Lancaster and helped write the Historic Guidelines for the Historic Landmark Preservation District of Lancaster. She also served as Chairman of the Historic Landmark Preservation Committee, dedicating her time and efforts to protecting the history and character of the city she loved.

When she was not serving her community or pursuing the arts, Patricia enjoyed sailboat racing and croquet. She lived life with enthusiasm, curiosity, and a willingness to embrace new experiences.

Patricia is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Jerry Giles, and her sisters, Dianne and Kay.

Patricia Siegfried-Giles leaves behind a legacy of service, leadership, creativity, and generosity. Through the countless organizations she served, the arts she helped bring to life, and the community she worked to preserve, she touched many lives. She will be remembered for her remarkable voice, her ability to make every word come alive, her passion for history and the arts, and her lifelong dedication to making the world around her a better place.

A celebration of Patricia’s life will be at 2:00pm on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 in the Great Hall at the Lancaster Rec Center.
