Patsy Ruth Hussey, 95, of Lancaster, TX passed away peacefully at home February 26, 2023.
Patsy was born to Velma Maud Lawrence and Cecil Neuburn Miller on May 16,1927 in Nocona, TX. After high school, Pat attended college in Eastern Tennessee and moved back to Texas to attend Abilene Christian College. Pat started her teaching career in New Mexico, later moving to the Ferris ISD. She taught her love of Science and Home Economics in the Lancaster ISD. She earned a master's degree from Texas Women's University and later went on to take a supervisor role in Special Education until retiring in 1986.
Patsy married R.J. Hussey on October 25,1957 in Dallas, TX.
Patsy lived her life for the Lord and in the service of others. She loved all people unconditionally. She was a long-time member of the Cold Springs Church of Christ in Lancaster, Tx.
Patsy was an avid Lancaster Tiger, Dallas Mavericks, and Duke University basketball fan. She loved March madness, and always created her own bracket. Her bracket was rarely wrong. And by the way, there better not be any phone calls or visits during March Madness!
She was preceded in death by her husband, R.J. Hussey; her mother, Velma Johnson (husband Albert Johnson); her father, Cecil Miller; her sister, Marilyn Jane Miller; and a great great granddaughter, Addison Jay Pittman.
Patsy is survived by her daughters, Janie Perez and son in law Art Perez, and Beverly Adams; her niece, Holly Corgill and husband AD Corgill; her 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson.
The family would like to acknowledge Denise Walker and Jacque Moreno for their love and care of Pat. Denise spent every morning and afternoon with Pat for the last 2 years. They formed a special bond.
The family is having a private graveside at a later date.
