Celebrating the life of Raúl Santoyo Pérez

Raúl Santoyo Pérez of Lancaster Texas passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, December 27th 2024, at the age of 95, entering the presence of Our Heavenly Father, his beloved wife of 73 years, Irene, his "viejita" was by his side, just as she has been throughout their long and loving life together.

Born December the 29th, 1928 in San Luis Potosi México, Raúl was the 4th of five children of Luis and Isabel Santoyo. From a young age, he was known for his joyful and kind spirit, traits that will shape his life as a brother, friend and eventually a devoted husband and father.

Raúl and Irene married on March 13th, 1951. Together they raised eight children in a household filled with love, laughter, discipline and unwavering faith. In the late '60s Raúl's determination to create a better future for his family brought him to Dallas, Texas. With a cheerful and hard-working spirit he found a career in the fine dining industry. Even while separated from his family, Raúl's heart was always with them, traveling back to Mexico for birthdays, holidays and dreaming of the day that they could be reunited. In the late '70s, that dream came true when Raul's perseverance allowed him to bring Irene and their children to join him in Texas and settle in Lancaster, Texas. Raul instilled in his children the values of hard work, respect and gratitude ensuring they embrace the opportunities in their adopted country.

Raúl was an avid reader and enjoyed challenging himself with new skills. After retiring in 2005 he earned his GED and continued to take computer classes, always eager to learn and explore new learning opportunities.

Raúl left a Legacy of Love, perseverance and most importantly faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, while his family mourn his absence they find solace and know he has been reunited with his beloved daughter Maria Magdalena Santoyo.
Raul's heart ached for her, and now, in God's presence, they are together again, surrounded by HIS everlasting peace and love.

Raúl is survived by his beloved wife Irene Santoyo and his children Raúl (Mary), Rafael (Yolanda), Alfonso (Anna), Patricia (Edgardo), Claudia (Ricardo Jr.), Arturo (Diana) and Dolores.

His grandchildren included José Raúl (Brenda), Ricardo, Carlos, Oscar, Alfonso Jr. (Shauna) Javier, Andres, Ricardo III, Vasthy, Melissa (Daniel), Erica (Sharles), Jessica (RT), Rebecca (Jason), Patricia (Gustavo), Karina and Ariana.

Raúl was also blessed with great grandchildren Isaiah, Isabella, Samantha, Savanna, Andrew, Lewis, Emiliano, Olivia, William, Elize, Jacob, Gaél, Jason, Thaís, Nicholas, Judith and Maverick.

A celebration of Raul's life will be held on Wednesday, January 8th, 2025 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church at 10:00a.m. Family and friends are invited to share their favorite stories and memories of this remarkable man who believes that life is best lived with faith (2 Corinthians 5:7), love and determination.

Raúl Santoyo Pérez de Lancaster Texas falleció tranquilamente en su dormír, el viernes 27 de diciembre de 2024, a la edad de 95 años, entrando a la presencia de Nuestro Padre Celestial. Su amada esposa de 73 años Irene, su "viejita" estuvo a su lado, tal como lo ha estado a lo largo de su larga y amorosa vida juntos.

Nació el 29 de diciembre de 1928 en San Luis Potosí, México. Raúl fue el cuarto de cinco hijos de Luis e Isabel Santoyo. Desde muy joven, fue conocido por su espíritu alegre y amable, rasgos que moldearán su vida como hermano, amigo y, finalmente, un devoto esposo y padre.

Raúl e Irene se casaron el 13 de marzo de 1951. Juntos críaron ocho hijos en un hogar con amor, risas, disciplina y fe inquebrantable. A finales de los años 60, la determinación de Raúl de crear un futuro mejor para su familia lo llevó a Dallas, Texas. Con un espíritu alegre y trabajador, encontró una carrera en la industria de la buena mesa. Incluso, mientras estaba separado de su familia, el corazón de Raúl siempre estuvo con ellos viajando de regreso a México para cumpleaños, días festivos y soñando con el día en que pudieran reunirse. A finales de los años 70, ese sueño se hizo realidad cuando la perseverancia de Raúl le permitió traer a Irene y sus hijos a unirse a él en Texas y establecerse en Lancaster, Texas. Raúl inculcó en sus hijos los valores del trabajo duro, el respeto y la gratitud, asegurándose de que aprovecharán las oportunidades en su país adoptivo.

Raúl era un lector asiduo y disfrutaba retándose a sí mismo, con nuevas habilidades. Después de jubilarse en 2005, obtuvo su GED y continuó tomando clases de computación, siempre ansioso por aprender y explorar nuevas oportunidades de aprendizaje.

Raúl dejó un legado de amor, perseverancia y la más importante era su fe en nuestro Señor y Salvador Jesucristo. Aunque su familia está en duelo por su partida, encuentran consuelo y saben que se ha reencontrado con su amada hija María Magdalena Santoyo. El corazón de Raúl sufría por ella y ahora en la presencia de Dios están juntos nuevamente rodeados de SU paz y amor eterno.

A Raúl le sobreviven su amada esposa Irene Santoyo, sus hijos Raúl (Mary), Rafael (Yolanda), Alfonso (Anna), Patricia (Edgardo), Claudia (Ricardo Jr.), Arturo (Diana) y Dolores.

Sus nietos incluyen a José Raúl (Brenda), Ricardo, Carlos, Oscar, Alfonso Jr (Shauna), Javier, Andres, Ricardo III, Vasthy, Melissa (Daniel), Erica (Sharles), Jessica (RT), Rebeca (Jason), Patricia (Gustavo), Karina y Ariana.

Raúl también fue bendecido con bisnietos Isaiah, Isabella, Samantha, Savanna, Andrew, Lewis, Emiliano, Olivia, William, Elise, Jacob, Gaél, Jason, Thaís, Nicholas, Judith y Maverick.

El miércoles 8 de enero del 2025 se llevará a cabo la celebración de la vida de Raúl en la Iglesia Católica de San Francis of Assisi a las 10:00a.m.. Cordialmente se les invita a familiares y amigos a compartir sus anécdotas y recuerdos favoritos de este extraordinario hombre que creía que la mejor manera de vivir la vida es con fe (2 Corintios 5:7), amor y determinación.
