Rex Ellis was born June 20, 1931 in Mexia, TX and passed from this life on March 28, 2025 in Dallas, TX.
Rex loved music, especially his bass guitar! He founded a non-profit organization named Music is Forever, "MIF," in order to teach the disabled how to play instruments and love music.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Georgia L. Moss; his grandmother, Joe S. Moss; his father, Ezell Ellis; and his long-time companion, Daisy Gillan.

Rex is survived by his daughter, Debra L. Hill; his granddaughter, Melanesia Canady and her husband, Antonio; his grandson, Brandon L. Perry; and his great-granddaughters, Madisyn Canady and Rion Estrada.

A Celebration of Life Gathering was held from 2:00pm to 4:00pm on Friday, April 4, 2025 in Byrum Funeral Home Chapel in Lancaster, Texas.
