Bob Marek, age 86, went to be in the everlasting presence of God on Thursday, May 21, 2020.
Bob was born on December 10, 1933, in Columbus, Texas, to Vladislav Ludwig Marek and Inez Fuller. He was the youngest of three boys. He played football at Columbus High School before attending a year at Texas Lutheran College, then joined the army and served his country in Japan. After completing his military service, Bob moved to Houston and soon met the love of his life, Margaret. They married in 1958 and spent over 20 years together before her passing in 1981.
Bob loved the outdoors, especially boating and fishing. Bob spent almost 20 years living on Pensacola Bay in Florida before returning to Texas to be closer to family. Many happy memories were created in the Pensacola area with family and friends.
Bob is survived by his son, Brian, Brian's wife, Diana, and their children, Sarah, Rachel, Chris and Grace; and his daughter, Diane Shull, Diane's husband, Steven, and their child, Isaiah.
Bob accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. We believe that on the date of his death, Bob once again danced with his beautiful wife Margaret and was greeted at Heaven's gate by his mother and father and his two older brothers, V.L. and Jack.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, May 26, 2020, at Byrum Funeral Home, [address], Lancaster, Texas. A private burial will be held later at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery, Houston, Texas, where he will be laid to rest next to Margaret.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to your favorite veterans service organization, such as Carry The Load
