Robert Morris Martin was born July 1, 1947 in Jacksonville, FL and passed from this life on February 17, 2024 in Dallas, TX.

Robert graduated from Lancaster High School in 1965 and was awarded a scholarship to the college of his choice. He went into the U.S. Army shortly after from 1968-1972. He achieved the rank of Private Class E1 and earned the Expert Marksmanship award on the M-14 Rifle. Robert was an avid reader, a true bookworm. He loved meeting his friends for coffee at Barnes & Noble. He was more than willing to help all of his neighbors and was generous to his family. Robert had many loves. He loved all kinds of cars, working on cars, and his guns. More than these, he loved Michael and Ammie and was very proud of them.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Rachel Martin; and his sister and brother-in-law, Sophenia and Joseph Aue.

Robert is survived by his stepchildren, Michael Stringfellow & Ammie Worth and their families; his siblings and their spouses, Ray & Pam Martin, Lucretia & Phillip Ensminger, Valincia & Robert Kolbaba, and Randall Martin; his nieces and nephews, Eric Aue, Rachel Aue, Frank Aue, James Aue, Charles Aue, David & Linh Aue, Phillip Martin, and Donald Martin; his great nieces and nephews, Eve Aue, Julianne Martin, Makayla Martin, Kason Martin, and Jackson Martin; and his many friends, especially Alvin Norris, Estel Embrey, Bart Young, Emmit Conn, and Terry Finley.

The family will receive friends from 10:00am to 12:00pm on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at Byrum Funeral Home in Lancaster. A celebration of Robert's life will be at graveside at 1:30pm on Wednesday following the visitation at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas.
