Rodolfo Gonzalez was born September 9, 1942 in Veracruz, Mexico to Victor Gonzalez and Seferina Flores and passed from this life on February 20, 2026 in Lancaster, TX.
Rodolfo's nickname was Rudy or "El Cowboy." He loved animals and worked as a ranch hand when he was young. He enjoyed riding horses, raising animals, and hunting. He also loved western shows and movies as well as Ranchero music or Corridos and old school country music as long as it was NOT Willie Nelson. More than any of these, though, Rodolfo loved his children and grand-children and was so very proud of them.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Guadalupe M. Gonzalez; his daughter, Laura Rodriguez; his great-granddaughter, Chloe Rodriguez-Jones; his brothers, Victor and Arnoldo Gonzalez; and his parents.
Rudy is survived by his children, Maria Cristina, Rodolfo Gonzalez Jr. and wife Elizabeth, Gerardo Gonzalez and wife Kelly, Elizabeth Gonzalez, Adriana Cazares and husband Rolando, Graciela Gonzalez, and Mario Gonzalez Sr.; 24 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; his sister, Marta Bailleres; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Rudy's life will be at 10:00am on Friday, February 27, 2026 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Lancaster, TX. Graveside will be immediately following at Holy Redeemer Cemetery in DeSoto, TX.
