Roy Wayne Petty, Jr. was born March 26, 1969 in Dallas Texas to Roy Wayne Petty, Sr. and DeeLane Moore.
He is preceded in death by his father Roy Petty, Sr; his sister, Tammy Petty; his brother, Aaron Petty; and his father-in-law, Terry McCary.
Roy is survived by his mother and step father, DeeLane and Dennis Moore; his wife of 15 years, Kristi McCary; the mothers of his children, Cazzie Petty and Wanda Perry; his 8 children; Cody Petty, Tammy Balvaneda, Mariah Zuniga, Roy Petty III, Andrew Zuniga, Marcos Rodriguez, Tanner Petty, Natavaeh Petty; his sons-in-law, Louis Balvaneda and James Harrington; his daughter-in-law, Michelle Acosta; his extended daughter, Chelsea McNeely; his grandchildren, Aubree and Emily Balvaneda, James Harrington, Jr., and Alethzi Zuniga; his sister, Sherri McNeely; and his mother-in-law, Cathy McCary.
He was a son, father, husband, grandpa, and friend. Roy was a hardworking man who loved his family and loved to make people laugh with his corny jokes. His main goal in life was to provide and take care of his family. Roy enjoyed being outside with his tools and doing landscaping. He enjoyed rock music especially Tom Petty.
Roy lost his battle to liver cancer on July 27, 2023 at the age of 54. He was surrounded by many loved ones who will honor his memory.
Family will receive friends from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at Byrum Funeral Home Chapel.
