Scott Davidson DeLeve was born November 28, 1955 in Poughkeepsie, NY and passed from this life on March 2, 2024 in Red Oak, TX.
Scott spent time in the Army where he learned to speak German and some Russian. Scott loved music, playing his guitar, and was an avid reader. He loved playing golf wit his brother, Russell, and traveling. He got his bachelor's degree from Jacksonville University, his Juris Doctor degree from Florida State University College of Law, and his Master's in Library and Information Science from the University of Southern Mississippi. Scott retired from the University of Mississippi School of Law where he was the Public Services Law Librarian. While there, he was instrumental in creating a curriculum for Internet Law.
After retirement, he married the love of his life and moved to Red Oak, TX. Scott had a great love for his family. He was compassionate and treated all with kindness. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was a big Denver Broncos fan. He will deeply missed by all of us who love him.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Baird DeLeve; his mother, Jane Haygood Norman; his brother, Russel Wayne DeLeve; and his step-father, Marc Jelovchan.
Scott is survived by his wife, Cathy Fulbright DeLeve; his step-children, Andrew Gaskey, Jeremy Gaskey and wife Haitee Young, Caitlyn Fulbright, and Megan Fulbright and boyfriend David Carambot; his step-grandchildren, Andrew Gaskey, Hanna and Janna Gaskey; his sisters, Ryn DeLeve Wilson of Alburquerque, NM, and Marcia Richardson and her companion Brad West of Atlantic Beach, FL; his nephew, Colton Richardson and wife Paige of Jacksonville, FL; his great-nephew, Greyson Richardson; his mother-in-law, Gail Nessel; his sister-in-law, Pamela Drake and husband Mark; and numerous family members and friends.
A private memorial service will take place at a later date on South Padre Island.
