Simona Muniz Garza, age 88, of Kenedy, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2025. Born on January 5, 1937, in Kenedy to Tomas and Margarita (Garza) Muniz, Simona lived a full and meaningful life centered on faith, family, and love for her community.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents; her husband, Frederico Garza; and her grandson, Casey Garza.

Simona is survived by her devoted children: Mary Linda Mendoza and husband Joe; Fred Garza, Jr. and wife Anita; Barbara Garza; and Alex Garza and wife Michelle. She leaves behind a proud legacy in her grandchildren: Monica Mendoza Meza and husband Gilbert, Fernando Mendoza and wife Danielle, Dr. Clarissa Salinas and husband Derek, Colby Garza and wife Jennifer, Megan Brown and husband Andrew, Dr. Christina Gonzalez, Brian Garza and wife Jenny, Faith Garza Madewell and husband Thomas, Luke Garza and wife Anna, and Brittany Garza.

She was blessed with many great-grandchildren: Caiden, Isabelle, Ella, Case, Ryan, Emma, Asher, Peter, Donovan, Catalina, and Sebastian. She is also lovingly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends including Rosa Muniz and sons.

Simona had a passion for sewing and gardening and took great pride in her beautiful yard, especially her cherished roses. Her home was a place of peace and joy, where birds sang freely and even the neighborhood cats found a place of refuge. She found great joy in hosting family gatherings and was a devoted member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, where she actively participated as long as her health allowed.

Her warmth, strength, and unwavering faith touched all who knew her. Simona's legacy of love, resilience, and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
