Stephen Jaso Canchola was born November 3, 1952 in Refugio TX to David R. Canchola and Mary Arcelia (Jaso) Canchola. He passed from this life on November 20, 2019.
Steve graduated from Wilmer-Hutchins HS in 1971. He attended the University of Texas at Dallas and obtained his BS and MA in Education and SMU with a degree in Special and Bilingual education. He was employed by Dallas ISD.
Steve was preceded in life by his Parents, Grandparents, Sister in Law and several family members.
He is survived by daughters Maria Canchola of Grand Prairie, TX and Joy Canchola of Costa Mesa, CA; sister Melinda Ann Canchola of Lancaster, TX; brother Orlando Canchola, nephew David Ryan Canchola, and niece Baylee Diane Canchola all of Okmulgee, OK; Aunt Mary Frances & Uncle Arthur Perez of Lancaster, TX; Uncle David & Aunt Rita Jaso of Georgetown, T; and numerous cousins.
Steve attended Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Lancaster where he served as a Eucharistic Minister, and was the first Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus at St Francis. He had also studied and became an Oblate Minister.
Steve loved life, in particular outdoor activities; fishing, hunting, camping,etc. His other passions included cooking, science fiction, ham radio and music. Steve was an excellent guitar player.
Steve will be missed by many who loved him.
