Steve Edward Copeland was born June 19, 1944 in Denton, TX to Perman Edward and Etta Adeline (Sweatman) Copeland and passed from this life on October 10, 2021 in Dallas, TX.

Steve was quite a character with many loves. He loved singing and being called the King of Karaoke! He was definitely his biggest fan! Steve enjoyed making knives, hunting, fishing, and anything outdoors. He also loved motorcycles and putting together model planes. Steve also savored being in the kitchen. He came up with many creative dishes that all the family knew they had better say how good they were! Mostly, they would tell him it was so good, he should save it for a special occasion! Steve managed to have all these incredible activities and hobbies while working for Lockheed Martin for 36 years before retiring.

He was preceded in death by his bride of 38 years, Laura Virginia "Ginny" Copeland; his sister, Mary Ruth Wheeler; his brother, Ernie Allen Copeland; and his parents.

Steve "kinda" liked his two children, Alisha Riordan and Brandon Copeland as well as his son-in-law, Randy Riordan. He will miss seeing his favorite 4 grandchildren, Nikki and Eric Keller, Nathan Riordan, Chase and Whitney Riordan, and Chad Riordan and Chelsea Mast, but he adored his great-grandchildren the most, Amy, CJ, Ryan, Sky, Cara, Lexus, Storm, Dawsyn, and Addisyn. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Byrum Funeral Home Chapel. A graveside service will be at 11:00am on Thursday, October 14, 2021 in Red Oak Cemetery.
