Susan Fethkenher, 76, of Dallas, Texas, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, in Sunnyvale, Texas.
Susan was born to Anton and Lorraine Snow on September 12, 1946 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She is preceded in death by both of her parents, her two beloved sons Cory and Andrew, her sisters Becky Herald and Lorise Joyce, and her soulmate and husband of 50 years, Steve Fethkenher.
She will be greatly missed by her loving daughter Mandy Scott and her husband Shane Scott of Sunnyvale, Texas and her grandchildren who were her heart: Drew, JT, and Landry Scott. She also leaves behind nieces and nephews and wonderful friends who will miss her deeply.
Susan attended Bryan Adams High School in Dallas. She became a dedicated teacher who taught for over 30 years. The majority of those years were spent teaching elementary school at Lorenzo De Zavala in Dallas, where she had a great passion for reading to her students. Her life has been defined by her love and devotion to her husband Steve, and to her daughter Mandy and to her 3 grandchildren.
The love Susan had for her family was unparalleled. Susan and Steve had the privilege of taking care of each grandchild during their preschool years. They said it was the best and lowest paying job they ever had. She said she loved spending this past year living with her grandchildren and seeing them daily.
She was fiercely loved and will be missed.
We will celebrate Susan's life on Saturday, August 19th at 11:00AM for a graveside service at Grove Hill Cemetery.
