Obituary

Thomas "Tom" Murrell Vincent, 77, of Desoto was born March 19, 1944 in DeSoto, TX to Leonard Clifford and Mattie Lou Minor Vincent. He passed away on December 2, 2021 at home with his family by his side. Tom was a member of the Texas National Guard, a Desoto policeman, a Deacon at Desoto Church of Christ, and spent the majority of his life working for Southwestern Bell installing landline telephones. He was best known by his family and friends as a God-fearing man who loved his Lord, as well as an avid deer hunter, and bass fisherman, but most importantly "Pawpaw" to his five grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Marie Vincent; his daughter, Lisa Mills; and his sisters, Barbara Strain and Elsie Lou Hood.

Tom leaves behind his son, Paul Vincent and wife Toni; his son-in-law, Michael Mills; his five grandchildren, Thomas Vincent and wife Baillie, Jacob Vincent, Zachary Vincent, Natalie Mills Bowman and husband Jacob, and Korbin Mills; his nephews, Deral Strain, Darron Strain, Greg Hood, and Vince Hood; his niece, Donna Argenbright; and many beloved cousins and friends.

Family will receive friends from 3:00pm to 5:00pm on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at Byrum Funeral Home Chapel. Celebration of Tom's life will be at graveside on Monday, December 6, 2021 in Vincent Cemetery in DeSoto, TX at 1:30pm.
