Timothy (Tim) Benjamin Prasifka was born on August 3, 1939, in Dallas County, Texas to Tom and Agnes (Dobecka) Prasifka and passed away June 25, 2026, in Midlothian, Texas. He was raised in Hutchins, Texas and attended his school years there. Prior to graduation, he chose to serve in the United States Army and enlisted on the buddy system with his brother, Louis. They both proudly served as Military Policemen.

Tim met the love of his life at a very young age when they served as attendants at the wedding of Tim's sister, Evelyn, and Dorothy's uncle, Walter. On February 17, 1962, Tim and Dorothy were married at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Seymour, Texas. Tim held many jobs during his life to provide for his family. He worked as an Insurance Agent, General Manager at the Family Business where he also drove wreckers, Truck Driver for Ace Hardware, Pool Quip supply business, and Security Officer for Veteran's Hospital. He ended his career working for the Texas Department of Transportation where he retired as the Maintenance Supervisor for the North Dallas area after 20 years.

Tim's life was deeply rooted in both faith and family. He was dedicated to his Catholic faith and the churches they attended throughout the years. He was also involved in many community and fraternal organizations. In 1980, Tim obtained his GED so that he could attend the Police Academy to become a Reserve Police Officer for Hutchins PD. As competitive as Tim was, he did not rest at that ranking and worked his way to the Captain of the Reserves. He retired with 10 years and 6 months of service to the citizens of Hutchins. He also devoted many years to the Catholic Czech Club and the Catholic Union of Texas, the KJT where he served as both an Insurance Representative and President of Society #111. Tim and Dorothy gave of themselves to parishes across the area including Holy Cross, St. Augustine, and St. Francis in Lancaster. While his children were attending St. Augustine, Tim became involved in the Parent/Teacher Organization which led him to become the Coach and Athletic Director for St. Augustine Catholic School. He was known for his colorful coaching career and led the Eagles to the 1977 Gopher Bowl where they won the Metroplex Championship. He was also named Coach of the Year. This group of players, his fellow coaches who became like family, the cheerleaders, and the Catholic Sisters remained special to him his whole life.

Tim was a lifelong Texas Rangers baseball fan. He was also an avid Taroky player and made sure that all his children and many of his grandchildren learned to play the game. After his retirement, prior to the Czech Club selling, he could always be found at the Czech Club playing with one of the regular groups; and, when he played, he always played to win.

Tim taught all his children and many of his grandchildren how to drive with the same mindset ~ which was perfection.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Prasifka; his children, Phillip and wife Annette, Thomas (Tommy) and wife Patricia, Donna and husband Shelby Willett and Matthew and wife Jennifer. He is also survived by his brother Louis and wife Lou Ann along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Tim was happiest when he was with his wife and surrounded by his children, 10 grandchildren, and 13.5 great grandchildren:Phillip and Annette: Kaylee and husband Cody, Lindsay, Tyler and wife Caitlin. Great grandchildren, Brady and Emma. Tommy and Patricia: James, Clay, Cory and wife Holly, Great grandchildren, Anjelica, Ella Rose, Nathan, Easton, Alexis, Emily, Abigail, Hattie and Fayne, Donna and Shelby: Danielle and husband Sam and Timothy and wife Keaton, Great grandchildren, Lillian and Neal, Matt and Jennifer: Benjamin and Adelyn

Tim was preceded in death by his parents Tom and Agnes Prasifka; in-laws Frank and Vlasta Macik; sisters Evelyn and husband Walter Macik and Martha and husband Daniel Hunt; brothers, Frank and wife Barbara and Jerry and wife Dorinda.

The pallbearers will be his grandsons while the honorary pallbearers will be the 1977 St. Augustine Eagles Metroplex Champs.

Family will receive friends on Monday, June 29,2026 from 5:30-8:00pm at Byrum Funeral Home located at 425 N. Dallas Avenue in Lancaster, Texas. Rosary will begin at 7:00pm on Monday, June 29, 2026. The funeral Mass and celebration of life will be held at St. Francis Catholic Church at 10:00am on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, in Lancaster, Texas located at 1537 Rogers Avenue. A meal will follow Mass at the Church Hall. Burial will be at 3:00pm at Saint Mary's Catholic Cemetery in West, Texas located at 1402 Cemetery Road for anyone who would like to attend.
