Obituary

Virgil Ray Elliott of DeSoto, Texas was born on March 3, 1934 in Grand Prairie, Texas to Marshall and Leoda (Bowlin) Elliott. He passed from this life on August 15, 2017. Virgil was preceded in death by his daughter, Cheryl Ann, his parents, and 7 siblings. He is survived by his sons, Mike and Steve Elliott; daughters Anna Blend and Angie Elliott; brother James "Jock" Elliott and sister, Virginia "Ginney" Killingsworth.
Virgil was a life-long resident of Texas and proudly served his country in the Army during WW II. He then went on to become a master electrician and owned his own business. He also loved all sports and coached his kids in baseball and basketball; even making it to the state finals one year. He enjoyed being outdoors working in the yard or on his cars. Most knew Virgil to be someone who was always willing to lend a hand or to just shoot the breeze…always ready with a one-liner sure to leave you laughing.
