Walter Haverly Damon passed away at home on February 9, 2023 after a long illness. He was surrounded by his loving wife, Donna & family. He was born in Wheaton, IL., on March 10, 1942 to Jayne Snyder Damon and Walter Haverly Damon, Jr. The family moved to Dallas in 1945.
Walter attended Hillcrest High School where he was voted most handsome senior boy. He graduated from Texas Christian University in 1964. At TCU, he pledged Kappa Sigma and remained close to his fraternity brothers throughout his life. It was at TCU that he met the love of his life, Donna Dean, his wife of 54 years.
After graduation, Walter began work in sales and later launched a successful career in commercial real estate. He worked for Fox and Jacobs and Duvall Giles before creating Hanover Properties with friend and business partner, Dick LeBlanc.
Walter was a devoted husband, father, grandfather & friend who will be remembered for his smile, firm handshake, and warmth. He loved the TCU Frogs, Dallas Cowboys, family reunions at Green Lake, Wisconsin, golfing at Lakewood Country Club and attending services at Highland Park Methodist Church. More meaningful than anything, activities and with his four grandchildren always took priority.
