Winford Wayne Rose received his angel wings on Monday, May 6, 2019, at the age of 83. He died in Lancaster, Texas at his home with his wife, Mary, at his side.
Wayne was born on July 31, 1935 to Clarence and Healor Rose in Bethel, Oklahoma. He was the middle child of three children between his sister Joyce and brother Larrie.
He grew up and attended school in Antlers, Oklahoma. After graduating he moved to Lancaster and opened a successful television sales and services shop which he ran for many years before retiring.
Being a young man in the 1950's Wayne loved ducktail hair, Poodle skirts, and big fins on cars. He loved classic movies especially family films, musicals, and Disney animations so much he operated a theater and ran only the movies he liked. He also enjoyed taking family photos, making and watching old movies, and having a Root Beer Float.
Wayne was a kind and very easy going man who was always willing to help out whenever or whoever was in need.
Over the years, Wayne was a trustee in a church he loved along with the church family at Central Baptist Church in Lancaster.
He is survived by Mary, his beloved wife of 45 years; daughters Cheryl and Cindy along with son Michael. He also had step-children Allen, Billy, Daniel, and Frances as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Even though time spread them apart, Wayne loved his children a great deal and while the distances were sometimes great, they were always close to his heart.
