They helped us when my Father passed away with cremation. When my Mother passed away it was necessary to arrange for her to be taken to Indiana. They took care of all the details, which were many. Including airfare, transportation to and from the airports as well as the regulations and procedures required for transporting. It sounded complicated and overwhelming. They were in constant contact with the receiving funeral home and everything went just as expected. It was a difficult time, but they gave us the peace of mind we needed for the complicated arrangements. My family is very grateful for their gentle and professional care given to us and all the arrangements.

I am writing to Thank Jeff and Sandra with Byrum Funeral Home in Lancaster Texas. I have never arranged a funeral before and they both offered great guidance, help, and support for me and my family. In making arrangements for my grandfather the plan changed numerous times and neither ever made me feel that I was being a bother. Jeff took the time to go over multiple options and even created a custom service for my grandfather that was not only inclusive but affordable. Jeff never used any sales techniques or made me feel pressured into anything, by doing this he gave my family the opportunity to see my grandfather one last time. They offered great support throughout the planning and day of services. Not once did I have to leave a message for anyone, Sandra who can probably tell who I am just by my voice by now, did not let any of my questions go unanswered. I know they have others working diligently in the background to make things go smoothly, to them, I thank you as well. I would recommend Byrum Funeral Home to anyone that is in the difficult situation of funeral arrangements. They will take care of you and your loved ones.

Byrum provided outstanding support for the memorial and burial of our dear aunt Ruth Henry (Goodman) Clark, a beloved long time resident of Lancaster who passed at the young age of 101 this past January. Honoring all aspects of the pre-arranged funeral planned decades ago, Jeff, Sandra and the staff were very thoughtful and supportive in augmenting Ruth's wishes with the family's specific desires to honor her life and legacy with her obituary, audio-supported video pictorial remembrance during visitation and the memorial service itself. We were very pleased with the arrangements, service and graveside farewell. All of the nieces and nephews of the Goodman family thank the Byrum staff for their kindness and professionalism in making her time of remembrance so special to our family, her dear friends from the First Presbyterian Church of Lancaster, and the close friends who attended the service. Well done!

We lost our Dad in September, it was sudden and unexpected. We knew he was an organ donor, And I had asked to be cremated, and that’s about all we had to go on. He didn’t have any prior funeral arrangements or life insurance so the process of dealing with all the things that are necessary after the death of a loved one, On top of the shock and grief, this presented a pretty overwhelming list if things to cover. While We were at the hospital and we were asked who we wanted to release his body to, My sister and I just looked at each other and at the same time said Byrum funeral home. We grew up in Lancaster and had been to countless funerals and memorial services there and we may not have known it at the time, but that choice made our lives so much less hectic in the coming days. Jeff was at the hospital within 30 minutes to talk over some basic details with us... he held our hands every step of the way, while we broke down and cried every step of the way too. He made very logical suggestions, that the grieving may not be thinking of at the time. They professionally arranged the obituary for us after we had all the details together. When our father’s ashes arrived Jeff filled up our Urn necklaces for us, since we weren’t quite steady enough to handle that yet. Then also split our fathers ashes into 2 separate containers for my sister and I. Not once in our entire experience did we feel pushed into anything we didn’t want. We were able to do what we believed would make our Father proud and honor his memory. Jeff kept us abreast of all the goings on before, during and after the service. Very quick to respond the emails and phone calls and honestly felt as if we were the only people they were taking care of at the time. With that said, I’m so thankful for their compassion and understanding and I would not hesitate to give my recommendation to Byrum Funeral Home to care for your loved ones and honor their memories and wishes to their fullest extent.
